Gazelle: winner of three awards Dutch Good Industrial Design 2011!

An independent jury has examined over 70 entries for the Dutch Good Industrial Design award 2011. Gazelle participated with three entries in the category consumer products: the Friiik, Balance Innergy and PowerClick Evo integrated kick-stand. All three won an award and may now carry the title Good Industrial Design 2011. To be considered for this award, a product needs to be more than beautiful. Functionality, originality, respect, innovativeness, user-friendliness and the selection of material do all have equal values.
Friiik
The
Friiik is equipped with a revolutionary gear changing system: the new, patented Gazelle Shifting System (GSS). The GSS can be described as a totally enclosed derailleur system and combines the main benefits of a hub gear and a derailleur, i.e. low maintenance and lighter cycling. Furthermore the Friiik has a unique design, thanks to the one-sided rear wheel suspension.
Balance Innergy
The Balance Innergy may be considered the safest electric bicycle around. Due to the patented Intelligent Seating Position, the bicycle has a multi variable seating position. This means you can adjust the bicycle to your ideal position, whether you are 145 cm (4.8 feet) or 195 cm (6.4 feet). What makes this electric bicycle particularly special is that you can always reach the ground with both feet, which puts the Balance Innergy at the very top when it comes to balanced safety.
PowerClick Evo integrated kick-stand
The new, seamlessly integrated PowerClick Evo kick-stand is an interesting development. The solid stand lies parallel to the horizontal rear fork and is completely hidden. With this kick-stand we have created the optimal combination of design and stability.
