Going downhill was fun, coming uphill after a workout&#8230;not much fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What was your motivation or rationale to get an ebike and what were the most important factors\u00a0in your consideration or selection process?<\/strong>\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Living in a hilly environment was a major factor to purchase an ebike; riding up hills in the summer heat was no fun.\u00a0I selected\u00a0the Gazelle brand as it was highly rated and the Ultimate T10 model had rave reviews. Where do you\u00a0prefer to\u00a0ride and\u00a0why?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I make a point of staying off any busy roads.\u00a0My main riding happens on bike trails or through quiet subdivisions.\u00a0In the summer in BC, I ride through the farm community &amp; orchards where there is little traffic but beautiful scenery.\u00a0In the winter here in AZ, I will transport the bike to various communities and ride off road trails in Tempe or Fountain Hills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"840\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/gazelle-blog.pondigital.solutions\/en-us\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2025\/01\/don-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1969\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cloudinary.pondigital.solutions\/pon-digital-solutions\/image\/upload\/gazelle-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/6\/2025\/01\/don-4.png 840w, https:\/\/cloudinary.pondigital.solutions\/pon-digital-solutions\/image\/upload\/gazelle-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/6\/2025\/01\/don-4-300x143.png 300w, https:\/\/cloudinary.pondigital.solutions\/pon-digital-solutions\/image\/upload\/gazelle-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/sites\/6\/2025\/01\/don-4-768x366.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 840px) 100vw, 840px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is your dream location to ride with your Gazelle in 2025?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In late 2025 or 2026, we want to do another bike\/barge tour through Portugal or Croatia.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do you have any advice for someone considering getting their first ebike?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, stay away from the cheap ebikes made in China; I have found they are not comfortable and battery safety can be an issue.\u00a0Buy a quality product and get it from a dealer.\u00a0Test ride several models of bikes to find the right fit. I rode 4 different Gazelles when I purchased my second\u00a0Gazelle from Tony this past summer (Ultimate C380 with a belt drive, which I leave in Canada).\u00a0Sizing is so important; if you have an uncomfortable bike, you will not want to ride it.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visibility is so important as well, have a good front and rear light, wear high visibility clothing as drivers don&#8217;t necessarily see you on a bike even though\u00a0you are in plain sight.\u00a0I believe one of the most important safety items for your bike is a mirror.
