Maximum speed of e-bikes

E-bikes are still bicycles. In Europe, they are equipped with a motor that provides assistance up to a maximum speed of 15.5mph. Can you go faster on your E-bike? Of course! Your top speed depends on your physical effort. Like a traditional bicycle, you can ride as fast as you can pedal. However, the motor assistance stops once you reach the maximum speed of 15.5mph. If you want to go faster, you will need to pedal harder.

Electric bikes speed and safety

Be alert and pay attention while on the road! Safety is always a critical consideration when it comes to speed. Our Gazelle e-bikes have an extremely high safety standard, from the frame to the braking systems. Nevertheless, it is essential to ensure that you are safe while riding on the road.

Therefore, we recommend that you get used to riding your e-bike in a low-traffic environment.
