Caring For Your Ebike
Ebike Maintenance Inspection
Ebike Maintenance Inspection
Follow the ABC Bike Safety Check to begin.
- A is for Air. Check the tire pressure in your wheels to limit flats. Tire pressures are printed on the side of the tires as a range. Where more pressure reduces rolling resistance, less pressure provides more grip. Also, use this opportunity to check that your axles are tight.
- B is for Brakes. Check both of your brakes with a quick squeeze to make sure that they engage. Check that your brake pads and cables are not worn.
- C is for Chain. Take a look at your chain and gears. Make sure the chain is clean and lubricated as this will make shifting easier and parts will last longer. Check that your shifting is smooth regardless of if you have a belt-drive ebike or derailleur system.
Key equipment is a bike pump, chain lubricant, and standard bicycle multi-tool. Available at your local Gazelle retailer

Cleaning Your Ebike
Cleaning Your Ebike
Consistently cleaning your bike will lead to better performance of components and a more enjoyable ride. If you ride in wet conditions, on non-paved surfaces, or very often, more frequent cleaning will be important for your bike.
Proper lubrication will keep your bike at peak performance by protecting parts, reducing wear, and holding off corrosion. Make sure to wipe off excess lube.
Key equipment is a clean rag for general cleaning, water from a low-pressure nozzle, and diluted dishwashing soap or bike washes. Available at your local Gazelle retailer.
